Reading time: 3 – 4 minutes
Here’s a way to get lots of hot traffic, easily.
It’s a method called trend marketing. It’s fast, easy to learn and pretty un-technical.
The catch is… it’s not good, usually for selling standard affiliate products. That’s because trend traffic is mainstream traffic, not ebook buyers.
A hot trend might come up about a new video game, for example. You identify the trend and set up a blog. The traffic comes easily because the trend is hot and a lot of people are searching for it.
Trend marketing can be a lot of fun, because if you hit a sweet spot in a hot trend, you’ll get a tsunami of traffic to your trend blog… and that traffic always turns into ad clicks. For 100 visitors the revenue isn’t likely to be that much, but if you get 10,000 (very possible with some trends) that’s 100 times 100 and it adds up. Considering the amount of work (very little) and the ease of the method, trend marketing can be a nice money-maker for you do work on when you have a spare 1/2 hour. I’m not kidding, because setting up a trend blog really takes only a couple of minutes.
With this kind of traffic your chances of selling an ebook or registering people in an MLM are slim. If you had an ebook or course to sell about video games, go for it, but in general with this kind of trend traffic you want to run these kinds of ads:
- Physical products – ie. Amazon affiliate products
- CPA offers (Cost per action) – dating sites, weight loss, etc… real mass market stuff
- Adsense
Now of course there’s lots of variety in terms of what you can promote on your blog, but the watchword is speed. Because trends are HOT, every minute counts, so you need to be ready to roll.
